What is the maximum allowed drain hose length, and how should it be routed?

If the supplied drain hose is not long enough, a new drain hose with a maximum length of 12 ft (3.7 m) (Part Number 3385556) may be used. The drain hose connection must be made above the drain trap and at least 20" (50.8 cm) above the floor. It is recommended that the drain hose either be looped up and securely fastened to the underside of the counter or be connected to an air gap.
