How do I clean the entrance needle?

Lift the coffee maker handle and locate the entrance needle on the underside of the lid. Hold the handle in the upward position and carefully insert a straightened paper clip into both holes in the needle, gently moving it around to loosen any coffee grounds. Then lower the handle completely and run two water-only brew cycles without inserting a K-Cup pod. (Page 3)
