Why is my K-Slim not turning on or keeps shutting off?

First, make sure the power button has been turned on and that the coffee maker is plugged into its own grounded outlet, separate from other appliances. Note that the coffee maker automatically turns off 5 minutes after the last brew as an energy-saving feature — simply press the power button to restart.
