Why am I hearing strange noises from the air conditioner?

A noise that sounds like water flowing is the sound of refrigerant flowing inside the air conditioner unit. A noise that sounds like compressed air releasing into the atmosphere is the sound of dehumidifying water being processed. Crack sounds are generated by the expansion/constriction of the front panel due to temperature changes.
