How do I clean the drain pump filter?

Open the lower cover cap using a coin, then pull out the drain plug hose to allow water to flow into a vessel. Once the water has stopped flowing, turn the pump filter to the left to open it and remove any foreign material. After cleaning, turn the pump filter clockwise to close it, reinsert the drain plug, and close the lower cover cap. Allow water to cool down before cleaning if a hot cycle has just run. (Page 26)
