How do I clean the drain pump filter?

First drain water using the drain hose and allow it to cool if hot. Open the lower cover cap using a coin, unplug the drain plug to let water flow out into a vessel, then turn the pump filter open to the left to remove any foreign material. After cleaning, turn the pump filter clockwise and reinsert the drain plug. (Page 26)
