What should I do before using my Maytag DW-1 dishwasher for the first time?

Read all instructions in the manual before using the dishwasher (Page 2). Check with the installer to make sure the appliance has been properly grounded to avoid possible electrical shock. Also ensure the sides and back are enclosed and front panels are attached before electrical power is applied.
