What should I do if clothes are taking too long to dry?

First check that the lint screen is clean and that the exhaust vent or outside exhaust hood is not clogged with lint — run the dryer for 5–10 minutes and hold your hand under the outside exhaust hood to feel for air movement. Also verify the exhaust vent is 4" (10.2 cm) diameter, not too long or kinked, and that the room temperature is above 45°F (7°C), since proper dryer cycle operation requires temperatures above that threshold.
