How do I know when it's time to change the water filter, and how do I reset it?

The Filter light turns red to indicate it is time to change the water filter, typically after the refrigerator has dispensed about 300 gallons of water (approximately every 6 months). After installing the new filter, touch and hold the 'Crushed/Hold 3 sec for Filter Reset' button for about 3 seconds to reset the filter indicator, and the color will change from red to off. If water is not dispensing or is dispensing slowly, the filter may be clogged and should be replaced. (Page 21–22)
