What water temperature should my hot water heater be set to?

Your water heater should be set to supply hot water with a minimum temperature of 120 °F (49 °C) at the tap. You should also check the water heater capacity and recovery rate. While the washer fills, the water temperature may change as the automatic temperature control feature checks incoming water temperature, and you may notice just hot and/or just cold water going through the dispenser—this is normal.
