What safety measures should I follow if I smell gas?

Do not try to light any appliance and do not touch any electrical switch or use a phone within the building. Clear the room, building, or area of all occupants immediately and then call your gas supplier from a neighbor's phone. Follow the gas supplier’s instructions. If you cannot reach them, call the fire department.
