How do I flush the water system after connecting the refrigerator?

To flush the water system, depress and hold the water dispenser paddle for 5 seconds, then release for 5 seconds and repeat until water begins to flow. Once water flows, continue depressing and releasing the paddle (5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) until a total of 3 gallons (12 L) has been dispensed. Flushing forces air from the water line and filter and prepares the water filter for use.
