How do I flush the water system after installing a new water filter?

To flush the water system, depress and hold the water dispenser paddle for 5 seconds, then release it for 5 seconds, and repeat until water begins to flow. Once water begins to flow, continue depressing and releasing the dispenser paddle (5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) until a total of 3 gallons (12 L) has been dispensed. Flushing forces air from the water line and filter and prepares the water filter for use. (Page 22)
