How long does it take for the ice maker to produce the first batch of ice, and are there any precautions?

Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice after installation. Discard the first three batches of ice produced, and allow 2 to 3 days for the storage bin to fill completely. It is also important to flush the water system before turning on the ice maker to avoid low ice production and poor quality ice. (Page 24)
