10 totalHow do I enter the BIOS setup on the PRIME H610M-A D4?
Press the Delete or F2 key during the Power-On Self Test (POST) to enter BIOS Setup at startup. If you miss the POST window, you can also press Ctrl+Alt+Delete simultaneously, press the reset button on the chassis, or power the system off and back on, then press Delete. The BIOS supports both EZ Mode and Advanced Mode, switchable via the F7 hotkey. (Page 2-2)
How do I update the BIOS using ASUS EZ Flash 3?
Insert a FAT 32/16 formatted USB flash drive containing the latest BIOS file into a USB port, then enter Advanced Mode in BIOS and navigate to the Tool menu to select ASUS EZ Flash 3 Utility. Use the arrow keys to locate the USB drive and BIOS file, then press Enter to begin the update. Do NOT shut down or reset the system during the update process, as this can cause boot failure. (Page 2-3)
What should I do if the BIOS gets corrupted or fails to update properly?
Use the ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 utility to recover the corrupted BIOS. Download the latest BIOS file from https://www.asus.com/support/, rename it to ASUS.CAP or PH610MA.CAP, copy it to a USB flash drive, and insert it while turning on the system. The utility will automatically detect and load the file into ASUS EZ Flash 3 to restore the BIOS. (Page 2-4)
How do I clear the CMOS to reset BIOS settings on the PRIME H610M-A D4?
To clear the CMOS, turn off the computer and unplug the power cord, then use a metal object such as a screwdriver to short the two pins on the Clear CMOS (CLRTC) header. Plug the power cord back in, turn on the computer, and hold the Delete key during boot to re-enter data in BIOS setup. If that does not work, remove the onboard battery, short the pins again, then reinstall the battery. (Page 1-4)
What type and maximum amount of RAM does the PRIME H610M-A D4 support?
The motherboard supports up to 64GB of DDR4 memory across two DIMM slots, with speeds of DDR4 3200/3000/2933/2800/2666/2400/2133 Non-ECC Unbuffered. It features dual-channel memory architecture and supports Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP). Do not install DDR, DDR2, or DDR3 modules, as the DDR4 slot is notched differently. (Page vi)
What CPUs are compatible with the PRIME H610M-A D4 motherboard?
The motherboard uses an Intel Socket LGA1700 and supports 12th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold, and Celeron processors. It also supports Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0, though the latter depends on the specific CPU type. Do not install CPUs designed for LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1151, or LGA1200 sockets, as they are incompatible. (Page 1-8)

1-8 1.3 Central Processing Unit (CPU) The motherboard comes with an Intel® Socket LGA1700 for 12th Gen Intel® Core™, Pentium® Gold and Celeron® Processors. Unplug all power cables before installing the CPU. • Ensure that you install the correct CPU designed for LGA1700 socket only. DO NOT install a CPU designed for LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1151, and LGA1200 sockets on the LGA1700 socket. • ASUS will not cover damages resulting from incorrect CPU installation/removal, incorrect CPU orientation/placement, or other damages resulting from negligence by the user. Installing the CPU Take caution when lifting the load lever, ensure to hold onto the load lever when releasing the load lever. Letting go of the load lever immediately after releasing it may cause the load lever to spring back and cause damage to your motherboard. Chapter 1: Product Introduction
1-10 1.4 System memory This motherboard comes with two Double Data Rate 4 (DDR4) Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets. The figure illustrates the location of the DDR4 DIMM sockets:
Channel Sockets Channel A
Dimm_A1
Channel BDimm_B1
• You may install varying memory sizes in Channel A and Channel B. The system maps the total size of the lower-sized channel for the dual-channel configuration. Any excess memory from the higher-sized channel is then mapped for single-channel operation. • A DDR4 memory module is notched differently from a DDR, DDR2, or DDR3 module. DO NOT install a DDR, DDR2, or DDR3 memory module to the DDR4 slot. • The default memory operation frequency is dependent on its Serial Presence Detect (SPD), which is the standard way of accessing information from a memory module. Under the default state, some memory modules for overclocking may operate at a lower frequency than the vendor-marked value. • For system stability, use a more efficient memory cooling system to support a full memory load. • Always install DIMMs with the same CAS latency. For optimal compatibility, we recommend that you install memory modules of the same version or date code (D/C) from the same vendor. Check with the retailer to get the correct memory modules. • Actual memory data rate depends on the CPU types and DRAM modules, for more information refer to www.asus.com for memory support list.Dimm_B1

Chapter 1: Product Introduction2-1 2.1 Knowing BIOS The new ASUS UEFI BIOS is a Unified Extensible Interface that complies with UEFI architecture, offering a user-friendly interface that goes beyond the traditional keyboard- only BIOS controls to enable a more flexible and convenient mouse input. You can easily navigate the new UEFI BIOS with the same smoothness as your operating system. The term “BIOS” in this user manual refers to “UEFI BIOS” unless otherwise specified. BIOS (Basic Input and Output System) stores system hardware settings such as storage device configuration, overclocking settings, advanced power management, and boot device configuration that are needed for system startup in the motherboard CMOS. In normal circumstances, the default BIOS settings apply to most conditions to ensure optimal performance. DO NOT change the default BIOS settings except in the following circumstances: • An error message appears on the screen during the system bootup and requests you to run the BIOS Setup. • You have installed a new system component that requires further BIOS settings or update. Inappropriate BIOS settings may result to instability or boot failure. We strongly recommend that you change the BIOS settings only with the help of a trained service personnel. BIOS settings and options may vary due to different BIOS release versions. Please refer to the latest BIOS version for settings and options. For more information on BIOS configurations, please refer to https://www.asus.com/support, or download the BIOS manual by scanning the QR code. BIOS Information 2
