How often should I replace the water filter, and how do I know when it needs changing?

The water filter should be changed every 6 months, when the filter indicator light turns on, or when water output has visibly reduced. After installing a new filter, discard the ice cubes produced during the first 24 hours and dispense water for 5 minutes and discard it. After replacing the filter, press and hold the filter button for 3 seconds to reset the filter change notification. (Page 17–18)
