How much detergent should I use and what type is recommended?

Use only detergent specifically designed for dishwashers, preferably fresh powdered detergent. With soft water, 1 tablespoon (15ml) will clean most loads. The detergent dispenser has measuring lines for 1 tablespoon (15ml) and 1.75 tablespoons (25ml), with a maximum of 3 tablespoons (45ml). With hard water or heavily soiled dishes, use up to 3 tablespoons (45ml). Reference Table 1 in the manual for recommended amounts based on your water hardness and soil level. Never use hand dishwashing products, as they can damage the dishwasher.
