Why does my heating element keep cycling on and off even at the highest setting?
Bosch NEM73UC Cooktop ·
This is normal behavior — the temperature limiter operates automatically to protect the glass ceramic surface from extreme high temperature damage. If the element cycles more than usual, possible causes include a warped pan base not making full contact with the heating surface, a pan that is too small for the element, boiled-dry ingredients, or a pan material that transfers heat too slowly.
