How should I clean the igniter on my cooktop?

Carefully wipe the igniter with a cotton swab dampened with water, ammonia, or Formula 409. Gently scrape soil off with a toothpick. Avoid excess water on the igniter, as a damp igniter will prevent the burner from lighting. Remove any lint that may remain after cleaning. (Page 9)
