What should I check before calling for service if burners don't ignite properly?

Check that the gas shut-off valve is in the ON position and the gas supply is not shut off, burner caps are properly positioned and ports are not clogged, igniters are clean and dry, there is no draft in the room, and the power supply is properly grounded with correct polarity and the cooktop is plugged in with the circuit breaker not tripped.
