How much detergent should I use for each wash cycle?

The amount of detergent depends on water hardness and soil level. For example, the Normal cycle requires 1.75–3 tbsp (25–45 ml) for hard water/heavy soil, 1.75 tbsp (25 ml) for medium water/medium soil, and 1–1.75 tbsp (15–25 ml) for soft water/little soil. If you do not know your water hardness, start with 15 ml and increase only as needed. (Page 24)
