What items should NOT be washed in the dishwasher?

Do not wash acrylic items (which may craze), bone-handled utensils, iron (will rust), pewter/brass/bronze (will tarnish), tin (will stain), or wood items. Also avoid plastic items unless marked 'dishwasher safe.' Do not load paper products, plastic bags, or packing materials. (Page 13-14)
