Why does my dishwasher run for a very long time?

A long cycle time can be caused by several factors, including incoming water not being warm enough, the rinse aid dispenser being empty or set to zero, or the dishwasher being connected to a cold water supply. Running hot water at the nearest faucet before starting a cycle, adding rinse aid, and connecting to a hot water supply can all help reduce cycle times. (Page 45)
