What are the important safety precautions for using this scanner?

Never use flammable substances like alcohol, benzene, paint thinner, or aerosol sprays near the scanner. Do not cut, damage, or modify the power cord. Never connect the power cord when your hands are wet. Do not connect the scanner to a multi plug power strip. When cleaning, push the power button to turn OFF and disconnect the power cord. Avoid installing the scanner in humid or dusty locations, direct sunlight, or near equipment that generates magnetic fields. (Page 17-18)
