How do I prepare my new oven for first use?

Before using the oven for the first time, remove all accessories and packaging from the cooking compartment, clean the oven cavity with hot soapy water, and run the empty oven at 500°F for about one hour followed by a 10-minute broil cycle to burn off manufacturing oils. It is advised that you run your vent hood during this initial heat-up process. (Page 23)
