What is the proper procedure to operate the oven for the first time?

Remove all packing materials and packaging from the oven cavity, wipe smooth surfaces with a damp cloth, and ensure proper ventilation. Push in and hold the oven temperature control knob for two seconds without turning, then turn counter-clockwise to bake at 500°F and release. After about one hour, turn the knob clockwise to off. Repeat the push-and-hold procedure and turn to Broil for about 10 minutes. Once cooled, wipe out with hot soapy water and replace rack guides.
