How often should I replace the water filter cartridge, and how do I install a new one?

The filter cartridge should be replaced every six months, or earlier if water flow to the dispenser or icemaker decreases. To install, fill the new cartridge with tap water, place the top of the cartridge up inside the holder, and slowly turn it to the right until it stops — do not overtighten. After installation, run water from the dispenser for 1 minute (about a half gallon) to clear the system and prevent sputtering. (Page 9)
