How do I safely operate the Handicare 1100 stairlift?

First, fold down the armrests and seat, then sit down and place your feet on the footplate. Fasten the seat belt securely and insert the key into the switch, turning it ninety degrees clockwise to lock the chair. Move and hold the joystick in your desired direction of travel—the display will show "8/9" and the lift will gradually start to move. (Page 4)
