How do I safely ride the Handicare 1100 stairlift?

Fold down the armrests and seat, sit down, fold down the footplate and place both feet completely on it, then fasten the seatbelt securely so it clicks into the holder. Insert the key and turn it ninety degrees clockwise, then move and hold the joystick in the desired direction of travel — the display will show '8/9' and the lift will gradually start moving. Always sit as far back in the seat as possible and never stand on the stairlift.
