How should I clean the stairlift and its rail?

Clean the stairlift regularly with a damp cloth, avoiding excessive water use. Clean the rail regularly with a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush and ensure it stays free of dirt and dust. Remove dirt from the rail with a slightly damp cloth, but never use cleaning products on the rail. Do not apply lubricant or grease to the rail as it uses friction drive. (Page 4)
