What safety precautions must I follow when using the stairlift?

Always sit as far back in the seat as possible and place your feet as close to the centre of the footplate as you are able. Fasten the seat belt securely and never stand on the stairlift. Keep limbs and clothing away from moving parts, and ensure wide or loose clothing cannot become trapped between the chair and the stairs or rail. Remove the key after use to prevent unauthorized use.
