How should I store the sand filter pump during the off-season?

After draining all water from the tank via the drain valve, disassemble the pump motor and allow all pieces to air dry completely. Coat o-rings and washers with petroleum jelly. Set the 6-way valve to the 'N' position. Store all components in the original packaging in a dry location with temperature between 0°C (32°F) and 40°C (104°F). Do not wrap the motor in plastic bags.
