How do I remove tomato-based food stains from my dishwasher?

To minimize tomato-based staining, remove excess tomato-based food soils from dishes before loading, run the Pots & Pans or Scour Wash cycle when washing loads containing tomato-based soils, and use a dishwasher detergent that contains chlorine to better fight staining. If light staining has occurred, leave the door open to oxidize the stain away.
