Why does my dishwasher cycle run for such a long time?

Some cycles are designed to run up to 3 hours to use less water and reduce energy consumption, and certain options add additional time — for example, the Heated Dry option adds approximately half an hour. A water heater set below 120°F (49°C) will also cause the dishwasher to run longer while heating cooler incoming water. To shorten cycle time, try the Insta Wash cycle and run hot water at a nearby faucet before starting. (Page 9)
