How do I activate the AquaClean water filter for the first time?

Shake the filter for 5 seconds, then immerse it upside down in a jug of cold water and shake/press it to prepare it. Insert the filter vertically into the water tank, fill the tank with fresh water, place a bowl under the hot water spout, and press the AquaClean icon for 3 seconds before pressing the start/stop button to begin the activation process. When the blue AquaClean light turns on, the filter has been successfully activated. (Page 15)
