What does the hissing noise during heating mean?

During heating, the appliance may produce a hissing noise (boiling water), which is normal and does not indicate any damage. The noise gets louder with time and the reason for this is the accumulation of limestone (scale). To remove the noise, the appliance must be cleaned from limestone, though this type of cleaning is not covered by the warranty.
