Which items should NOT be washed in the dishwasher?

Several items should not be washed in the dishwasher, including cast iron (seasoning is removed and iron will rust), wooden ware (can warp, crack, or lose its finish), tin (can rust), gold-colored flatware (will discolor), and disposable aluminum pans (may shift and transfer black marks to dishes). Hollow-handle knives, bottles and cans with glued labels, pewter, brass, and bronze items should also be hand-washed. (Page 19)
