How do I change the water filter and when should I replace it?

Press the eject button to release the filter from the base grille, pull the filter straight out, turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it, align the ridge on the cap with the arrow on the new filter and turn the cap until it snaps into place, remove protective covers from the O-rings, and push the filter back in. You should change the water filter every 6 months depending on usage, or when the status light changes to red, or if water flow decreases noticeably.
