Why is my new refrigerator making noises I didn't hear with my old one?
Refrigerator noise has been reduced over the years, so you may hear intermittent noises from your new refrigerator that you did not notice from your old model. Normal sounds include buzzing when the water valve opens, pulsating from fans/compressor, rattling from refrigerant or water line flow, sizzling/gurgling during defrost, popping from wall contractions, water running during defrost, and creaking/cracking as ice is ejected.
