How should I prepare my refrigerator for a vacation?

If leaving the refrigerator on, use up perishables, freeze other items, turn off the water supply and ice maker, and empty the ice bin to prevent property damage. If turning it off, remove all food, turn off water supply at least one day ahead, turn off temperature controls, clean and dry the interior, and prop both doors open to prevent odor and mold buildup.
