The cooking surface will hold heat and remain hot for up to 25 to 30 minutes after the elements have been turned off. A hot surface indicator light on each element will automatically illuminate to warn you when the surface is still too hot to touch. The light remains on until the cooking area has cooled to a safe-to-touch temperature. (Page 5)
