Common Questions
30 totalWhat electrical precautions should I take before installing the FRSS2623AS refrigerator?
Do not connect the appliance to an electrical power source until you have completed Step 3 of the installation instructions, as doing so risks electric shock that can cause death or severe personal injury. Additionally, do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug, and choose a place near a grounded electrical outlet. (Page 1)
What water pressure is required for the ice and water dispenser on the FRSS2623AS?
The refrigerator requires access to a cold water line with pressure between 30 and 100 psi. The water supply line should be made of braided stainless steel tubing or polyline, and you should never use a self-piercing type shutoff valve. (Page 3)
What type of water supply line is recommended for the FRSS2623AS?
A water supply line made of braided stainless steel tubing or polyline is recommended. While copper water lines are not recommended, if you choose to use copper, do not reuse compression fittings or use thread seal tape — use a new compression nut and ferrule instead. (Page 3)
How much clearance does the FRSS2623AS require for proper installation?
The refrigerator requires at least ⅜ inch of clearance on the sides and top, and 1 inch of clearance at the rear. These clearances are necessary for ease of installation, proper air circulation, and plumbing and electrical connections. (Page 2)
What room temperature range is safe for operating the FRSS2623AS?
Room temperatures below 55°F (13°C) or above 110°F (43°C) will impair the cooling ability of the compressor. The refrigerator should also be kept away from direct sunlight and heat sources such as a range or dishwasher. (Page 2)
How should I level the FRSS2623AS refrigerator during installation?
The cabinet should be leveled at the front and rear so that the front is raised ¼ inch (6 mm) above the rear to ensure the doors will open, close, and seal properly. All four corners of the cabinet must rest firmly on the floor, and you should use an adjustable wrench to adjust the leveling feet as needed. (Page 8)

Warning
To avoid electric shock, which can cause death or severe personal injury, do not connect your appliance to an electrical power source until you have completed Step 3 of these instructions. Tools Necessary: Manuals+ FRIGIDAIRE FRSS2623AS Side by Side Refrigerator - ToolsNote
These installation instructions are provided only as a possible customer option. We recommend you use a service or kitchen contracting professional to install your appliance. Site Installation Your unit is designed to be part of a built-in kitchen cabinet system. Be sure to coordinate site preparation and installation with your kitchen contractor. Include these minimum guidelines in your site preparation: Choose a place near a grounded electrical outlet. Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug. Avoid direct sunlight and close proximity to a range, dishwasher or other heat source. The floor should be level and able to support a fully loaded appliance. The ice and water dispenser requires water supply access. Plan for easy access to countertops when removing food. For complete access to drawers and freezer baskets, fully open the doors. Allow the following clearances for ease of installation, proper air circulation, and plumbing and electrical connections: Sides & Top: ⅜ in. / Rear: 1 in.Note
Information about cabinetry construction for your new appliance is available for contractors. Call 1-877-435-3287.Caution
Room temperatures below 55°F (13°C) or above 110°F (43°C) will impair cooling ability of the compressor. Transporting to Refrigerator Site After removing the external packaging from your refrigerator, you may still need to use a hand truck to move it through close spaces or entrances. If the refrigerator is larger than an entrance, consider 2 options: Remove the entrance door if one exists.Remove the refrigerator doors (see how in your Use & Care Manual). When using a hand truck: Load refrigerator from side of cabinet only. Do not run retaining straps over handles. Do not overtighten retaining straps. Never use refrigerator handles to move the refrigerator. Remove tape from the doors only after unit is in place.
Caution
Shifting the refrigerator from side to side may damage flooring. Water Supply Connection What you will need: Access to a cold water line with pressure between 30 and 100 psi. A water supply line made of braided stainless steel tubing or polyline. To determine the length needed, measure the distance from the water valve inlet at the back of the refrigerator to your cold water pipe. Then add approximately 6 ft (1.8 m), so you can move the refrigerator out for cleaning. A shutoff valve to connect the water supply line to your household water system. DONOT use a self-piercing type shutoff valve. While we do not recommend copper water lines, if you choose to use copper, DO NOT reuse compression fitting or use thread seal tape. Use a new compression nut and ferrule (sleeve) for connecting a copper supply line to the inlet water valve.
Caution
To avoid property damage: Use a water supply line made of braided stainless steel tubing or polyline. Ensure water supply complies with local plumbing codes.Note
For homes with existing valves, use Smart Choice® water line kit 5304437642 (with a 6 ft. stainless steel water line), and for homes without an existing valve, use Smart Choice ® water line kit 5304493869 (with a 6 ft. polyline water line). Please refer to Frigidaire.com for more information. To connect the water supply line to the ice maker inlet valve:If you use braided flexible stainless steel tubing, the nut is already assembled on the tubing. Slide nut onto valve inlet and finger tighten nut onto valve. Tighten another ½ turn with a wrench; DO NOT overtighten. See Figure 2.
Note
The ice maker’s fill valve may operate noisily if the household water supply is shut off. After ensuring no water leaks exist at any connection, be sure to check for leaks again in 24 hours. See your Use & Care Manual for detailed information about setting up and operating the ice and water dispensing system.A

Be careful not to move the refrigerator beyond its water supply (copper tubing) connections. Plug in the power cord, and push the refrigerator straight back into place.Important
If you are installing your refrigerator without connecting it to a water supply, make sure the ice maker’s power switch is turned Off (see the Use & Care Manual for more details).Caution
Shifting the refrigerator from side to side may damage flooring.Do not block the toe grille on the lower front of your refrigerator. Sufficient air circulation is essential for proper operation. Refrigerator Leveling and Door Adjustment (if necessary) Installation Checkoff List: All 4 corners of the cabinet must rest firmly on the floor. Level the cabinet at the front and rear ensuring the doors will open, close, and seal properly. Align and level the doors with each other. Level the cabinet using the leveling feet:
(counterclockwise) or raise (clockwise) the front of the cabinet ensuring the unit is sitting flat on the floor.
Removing Internal Shipping Materials We use packing foam, clips and tape to secure the internal parts of your refrigerator for shipping. Once the refrigerator is in position, you can remove this material.
Location of these materials may vary depending on your model. Suggestions Operation problems are possible if any of the installation tasks are not completed. Here
is a list of things to check for: Is the refrigerator’s power cord plugged in? Is the refrigerator connected to the household water supply? If you had to remove the refrigerator and freezer doors, did you reattach water and power connectors at the door hinges? (See the Use & Care Manual for detailed instructions on removing and replacing doors.) Is the ice maker power switch turned On? Other possibilities to check: Is the power to the receptacle turned on? Is the water filter above the fresh food compartment fully seated (see Use & Care Manual for details)? If you still have operation problems after checking these suggestions, please see the TROUBLESHOOTING section in your Use & Care Manual. Congratulations. You are ready to begin enjoying your new refrigerator. To become aware of IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION and learn how to operate your refrigerator, please read the entire Use & Care Manual.
