20 totalWhat are the recommended temperatures for the refrigerator and freezer compartments?
The recommended temperature for the refrigerator compartment is 37°F (3°C). The recommended temperature for the freezer compartment is 0°F (−18°C). The refrigerator compartment can be set from 33°F (1°C) to 43°F (6°C), and the freezer compartment can be set from 3°F (−16°C) to −11°F (−24°C). (Page 13, Page 19, Page 19)
What does it mean when a message with 'D' or 'E' appears on the display?
A 'D' or 'E' message on the display means the electronics have detected a fault. To resolve this, switch off the appliance, disconnect it from the power supply for 5 minutes, then reconnect it. If the message still appears after reconnecting, call Customer Service. (Page 25)
How often should I change the water filter, and how do I know when it needs replacing?
The water filter should be changed every 6 months. You should also change it if 'Clean Filter' lights up on the display, if water output has visibly reduced, or if ice cube production has visibly reduced. After installing a new filter, discard the ice cubes produced during the first 24 hours and dispense water for 5 minutes and discard it. (Page 20)
How do I perform the initial setup when starting the refrigerator for the first time?
Switch on the appliance at the main switch, close the door, wait 3 minutes, then reopen it. Follow the on-screen prompts to select a language, check the water connection, and confirm the summary by touching 'Next' and then 'Finish.' The appliance will restart, and you can optionally set up Home Connect®, select temperature units, set the time format, and activate other settings before pressing 'Finish' to complete setup. (Page 13)
How do I reset the refrigerator to factory settings?
To restore factory settings, touch the Settings icon, then touch 'Appliance Settings,' followed by 'Advanced,' and select 'Factory Settings' and press 'Restore.' This will reset the appliance back to its default configuration. (Page 15)
What should I do if the ice maker is not producing ice or producing very little ice?
First, check that ice cube production is switched on and that there is a water supply with the shut-off valve open. Low water pressure or a blocked water filter can also reduce ice production — check and replace the water filter if needed. If a fault is suspected, switch off the appliance, unplug it for 5 minutes, then reconnect; if the problem persists, call Customer Service. (Page 26, Page 27)

Refrigeration Compartment
14 Refrigeration Compartment
You can store dairy products, eggs, prepared dishes, pastries, opened preserves, and hard cheeses in the refrigeration compartment.
The temperature is adjustable from 33 °F (1 °C) to 43 °F (6 °C).
Cold storage also allows you to store perishable foods for short to medium-term storage. The lower the temperature you choose, the longer foods stay fresh.
14.1 Tips for storing food in the refrigeration compartment
¡ Store only fresh and intact foods. ¡ Keep food in an airtight or covered container. ¡ Do not place food in front of internal ventilation openings or in direct contact with the rear wall to avoid obstructing air circulation and preventing food from freezing. ¡ Allow hot beverages and food to cool before storing. ¡ Observe the expiration date or use-by date indicated by the manufacturer.
14.2 Cold zones of the refrigerator
The air recirculation cooling system circulates air evenly throughout the refrigeration compartment and ensures a constant temperature across all shelves.
Coldest Zone
The lower part near the rear panel is the coldest zone.
Tip: Store perishable foods such as fish, cold cuts, and meat in the fresh food compartment.
Fresh Food Compartment
15 Fresh Food Compartment
You can preserve fresh food up to three times longer in the fresh food compartment compared to the refrigeration compartment.
The temperature can be adjusted from 32 °F (0 °C) to 37 °F (3 °C) through preset level settings.
The quality of stored food is better preserved through cool storage. The low temperature and optimal air humidity create ideal storage conditions for fresh food products.

16 Freezer Compartment
Freezer Compartment
In the freezer compartment, you can store frozen foods, freeze foods and make ice cubes.
The temperature is adjustable from 3 °F (−16 °C) to −11 °F (−24 °C).
The long-term storage temperature for food should be 0 °F (–18 °C) or lower.
To protect food from freezer burn, you can set a permanent temperature of −11 °F (−24 °C).
To protect fatty foods such as fish and meat from oxidation, you can set a permanent temperature of −11 °F (−24 °C).
Freezing allows you to store highly perishable foods long-term. Low temperatures slow down or stop food spoilage.
16.1 Tips for Storing Food in the Freezer Compartment

Refrigerator Compartment
14 Refrigerator Compartment
Refrigerator Compartment
In the refrigerator compartment, you can store dairy products, eggs, prepared dishes, bakery products, opened preserves, and aged cheeses.
The temperature can be adjusted from 33 °F (1 °C) to 43 °F (6 °C).
In the refrigerator compartment, you can also store perishable foods for the short and medium term. The lower the selected temperature, the longer foods stay fresh.
14.1 Tips for Storing Food in the Refrigerator Compartment
• Store only fresh food in perfect condition. • Store packaged foods hermetically sealed or covered appropriately. • Do not place foods in front of interior ventilation openings or in direct contact with the rear panel to avoid impairing air circulation and preventing food from freezing. • Allow hot foods and beverages to cool. • Follow expiration dates or best-by dates indicated by manufacturers.
14.2 Cold Zones in the Refrigerator Compartment
The refrigeration system with air recirculation circulates air evenly throughout the refrigerator compartment and maintains a constant temperature on all shelves.
The Coldest Zone
The coldest zone is the lower section near the rear panel.
Tip: Store perishable foods (such as fish, deli meats, and meat) in the fresh compartment. → "Fresh Compartment", Page 78
Fresh Food Compartment
Fresh Food Compartment
In the fresh food compartment, food stays in good condition up to three times longer than in the refrigeration compartment.
The temperature can be adjusted from 32 °F (0 °C) to 37 °F (3 °C) using the preset storage settings.
By storing food in the fresh food compartment, the quality of stored food is better preserved.
The low temperature and optimal air humidity provide ideal conditions for storing fresh food.
Storage Recommendations for the Fresh Food Compartment
Storage Setting | Food ---|--- Vegetables | Vegetables Fruit | Fruit Vegetables & Fruit | Mixed load with fruits and vegetables Meat | Meat Fish | Fish and seafood Deli | Cold cuts and deli meats Cheese | Cheese and dairy products Beverages | Beverages

Freezer
Freezer
In the freezer, it is possible to store frozen products, freeze food, and prepare ice cubes.
The temperature can be adjusted from 3 °F (−16 °C) to −11 °F (−24 °C).
Food storage for long periods should be done at a temperature of 0 °F (−18 °C) or lower.
To protect food from freezer burn, a permanent temperature of −11 °F (−24 °C) can be set.
To protect fatty foods such as fish and meat from oxidation, a permanent temperature of −11 °F (−24 °C) can be set.
Perishable foods can be stored frozen for long periods. Low temperatures slow or stop their deterioration.
