How should I prepare my dishwasher if I'm leaving it in an unheated place during winter?

Cut off electrical power by removing fuses or tripping the circuit breaker, turn off the water supply and disconnect the water inlet line from the water valve, drain water from the inlet line and valve into a pan, reconnect the water inlet line, remove the plastic sump cover in the tub bottom, and use a sponge to soak up water in the rubber boot.
