What should I do if there are suds in the dishwasher tub?

Suds are typically caused by using a detergent not intended for dishwashers, so switch to an approved automatic dishwasher detergent such as Cascade®. To remove existing suds, open the dishwasher and let the suds evaporate, then add 1 gallon of cold water to the tub, close and latch the door, and pump out the water by slowly turning the Dial to a drain period.
