How should I prepare my refrigerator if I'm going on a long vacation?

For long vacations or absences, remove food and unplug the refrigerator, then move the freezer control to the OFF position and clean the interior with a baking soda solution of one tablespoon per quart of water, leaving the doors open. Move the icemaker feeler arm to the STOP (up) position and shut off the water supply to the refrigerator. If temperatures can drop below freezing, have a qualified servicer drain the water supply system to prevent flooding. (Page 17)
