20 totalWhat are the specs for the Kobalt KST 120X-06 string trimmer?
The trimmer runs on a 40V Lithium-Ion 2Ah battery and operates at 8000 RPM. It has a 12-inch (300mm) cutting path and uses 0.065-inch (1.65mm) dual line. The unit weighs 9.12 lbs. with the battery and includes a 40V Lithium-Ion charger with a 60-minute charge time. (Page 2)
How do I install the battery for the first time?
The battery is not charged when purchased, so you must place it in the battery charger before first use. To install, align the battery with the cavity in the string trimmer housing and insert it into the handle until the battery release button locks into place with an audible 'click.' Note that the battery can only be installed one way. (Page 13)
How do I turn the trimmer on and off?
To start, press the palm lock button (C) and then squeeze the trigger switch (B). To stop, simply release the trigger switch (B). When not in use, you can pull back the safety lock with your thumb to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport. (Page 14)
What should I do if the motor fails to start when I press the trigger?
First, check that the battery is secure by making sure the latches on the battery compartment snap into place. If the battery is secure, charge the battery according to the instructions included with your model. If neither resolves the issue, there may be a wiring or electrical contact problem — call 1-888-3KOBALT (1-888-356-2258) for technical service. (Page 17)
What should I do if the trimmer smokes during operation?
If the trimmer smokes during operation, it may be damaged. Do not continue to use the string trimmer and contact Kobalt customer service at 1-888-3KOBALT (1-888-356-2258) for assistance. (Page 17)
How does the automatic line advancement work, and what do I do if it stops feeding?
This trimmer is equipped with automatic line advancement, which automatically feeds additional line to the correct length as it wears down during use. If the line does not auto advance, the trimmer line may be tangled or empty — stop and restart the trimmer, which will automatically advance the line 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) upon starting. (Page 14)
