How do I fill the detergent dispenser and how much detergent should I use?

Open the dispenser cover by moving the cover latch to the right, add the correct amount of detergent to the Main Wash section according to soil level and water hardness (ranging from 4 tsp for soft water/light soil to 9 tsp for hard water/heavy soil), and add detergent to the Pre-Wash section if needed. Use automatic dishwashing detergent only, store it in a cool dry place, and add detergent just before starting the cycle. (Page 13)
