How often should I clean the lint screen and how do I do it?

The lint screen should be cleaned before every load by pulling it straight up, rolling lint off with your fingers, and pushing it firmly back into place. Do not rinse or wash the screen to remove lint, as wet lint is hard to remove. Additionally, the lint screen should be cleaned with a nylon brush every 6 months to remove detergent and fabric softener residue buildup. (Page 13)
