Common Questions
27 totalWhat are the recommended temperatures for the refrigerator and freezer compartments?
The recommended temperature for the refrigerator compartment is 37°F (3°C). The recommended temperature for the freezer compartment is 0°F (−18°C). Long-term storage of food in the freezer should be at 0°F (−18°C) or lower. (Page 13, 17)
How do I change the water filter, and how often should it be replaced?
The water filter should be changed every 6 months, when the filter indicator lights up, or when water output has visibly reduced. To replace it, pull the filter cover forward and down, then pull the water filter down to the left, turn it counterclockwise 90°, and remove it. Insert the new filter, turn it 90° clockwise, fold it up, and replace the cover. After installation, discard ice cubes produced in the first 24 hours and dispense water for 5 minutes and discard. (Page 17-18)
What does it mean when 'E' or a fault code appears on the temperature display?
When 'E' or a similar symbol appears in the temperature display, the electronics have detected a fault. Switch off the appliance, unplug it or switch off the circuit breaker, wait 5 minutes, then reconnect and switch it back on. If the message still appears, call Customer Service. (Page 25)
How do I turn off the temperature alarm in the freezer compartment?
Press the alarm button to switch off the temperature alarm warning tone. The temperature display will briefly show the warmest temperature reached in the freezer compartment, then return to the set temperature. The temperature alarm can be triggered when the appliance is first switched on, when large quantities of fresh food are added, or when the freezer door is left open too long. (Page 15)
How does Super Freezing work, and when should I use it?
Super Freezing cools the freezer compartment as cold as possible and should be switched on 1 to 2 hours before placing food weighing 4.4 lbs (2 kg) or more into the freezer compartment. It can also be used to accelerate ice cube production. After approximately 8 hours, the appliance automatically switches back to normal operation. (Page 13)
What water pressure is required for the ice and water dispenser to work properly?
The water pressure in the water supply system must be at least 29 psi (200 kPa) and a maximum of 116 psi (800 kPa). If the water pressure exceeds the maximum value, a pressure-reducing valve must be installed between the drinking water connection and the appliance's hose set. Low water pressure is a common cause of reduced water output and low ice cube production. (Page 6)
