How do I set a cook time so the cooktop element turns off automatically?

Select the desired element and power level, then touch the Cook Timer key (Benchmark Series) or Timer key (800 Series); the timer display will show ‹‹. Within 10 seconds, enter the desired cook time using the number keys, and the timer will begin counting down. Once the set time has elapsed, the element turns off automatically and an acoustic signal sounds. (Page 17, 28)
